The Gamer

Since 1988, I have been known on the Internet as Ntanel in one form or another. Introduced to the Internet by my brother, Kilokahn, we began sharing a Commodore 64 with a 1,200 baud modem. We thought that it was blazing fast at the time. Just keep in mind that we could only see text. We eventually upgraded to a Commodore 128 with a 2,400 baud modem.

Sometime in the mid-1990s, after the Pentium I had been out for a while, we got our hands on a 286 Mhz system with a 14.4 Kps modem. As the computers got better, our Internet connection improved… 28.8 Kps, 36.6 Kps and then 56 Kps in 2006. We started with an DOS ANSI operating system and somehow was able to acquire Windows 3 in 1995. We always seemed to be a few years behind on operating system updates.

When the World Wide Web came to town in 2006 and we could see actual images on the monitor… Our minds were blown. However, we did not need fancy images to build websites when Geocities popped up in 1995. We also did not need them when we started MUDding in 1988.

From 1995 to 2014, I have had a personal web page dedicated to my interests. I rather enjoy comic books, video games and have particular interests in anime such as Pokemon and Dragonball, science fiction programs such as Star Trek, cartoons such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers as well as pretty much anything having to do with DC and Marvel superheroes. In most cases, the information that I had presented on this web page was scant.

In more recent years, other websites have had similar information, expanded upon it far better than I had and dedicated a lot more time than I could. Knowing that I do not have the time to compete and am not willing to even try, I have removed the fan-based content that was on this web page. To those of you out there that want to start your own fan-based web pages, good luck out there. Getting fans is only going to get more difficult now that almost anyone can have a web page.
